Chittorgarh is the perfect example of Chattari Rajput (an Indian warrior caste) valor, honor, and sacrifice. The people of Chittor have always chosen death over surrender, a legacy that echoes through the history of gallantry and sacrifice, still sung by the bards of Rajasthan.
Vijay Stambh: The Vijay Stambh, built by Maharana Kumbha in Chittorgarh, is a national monument dedicated to celebrating the kingdom's victory over the invader Mahmud Khilji. The tower is adorned with images of Hindu gods and goddesses.
Chittorgarh Fort: Chittorgarh Fort, built in the 7th century A.D., spans an area of 700 acres. According to ancient legend, the city was founded by the Pandava warrior Bhima.
Jaimal and Patta Palaces: The Jaimal and Patta Palaces belonged to the Rathore warrior Jaimal and Sisodia ruler Patta. They are located on a rocky surface rising from the southern part of the Gomukh Kund.
Kirti Stambh: The Kirti Stambh, a 22-meter tower, was constructed by the first Jain Tirthankar and is dedicated to Adinath. Built in Solanki architectural style, it features balconies and windows.
Meera Bai Temple: The Meera Bai Temple was built in the North Indian architectural style. It has an open arcade around the chamber with four pavilions at each corner.
Padmini’s Palace: Padmini Palace was built for Queen Padmini, whose extraordinary beauty attracted Allauddin Khilji, leading to the eventual destruction of Chittorgarh.
Fateh Prakash Palace: Fateh Prakash Palace is known for its large idol of Lord Ganesh, a grand fountain, and several frescoes. It was built by Rana Fateh Singh.
Rana Kumbha Palace: The Rana Kumbha Palace, a 15th-century structure, was the residence of Rana Kumbha. This historic monument is a popular tourist attraction due to its charming and artistic architecture.
Gaumukh Reservoir: Gaumukh Kund, literally "the mouth of a cow," is a beautiful reservoir located on the western side of Chittorgarh Fort, one of the most impressive attractions in Chittorgarh.
Kalika Mata Temple: Kalika Mata Temple, dedicated to Kalika – a symbol of courage and power – dates back to the 8th century. It is one of the oldest temples in the Chittorgarh region and is believed to have originally been a Sun temple built by King Manbhanga.
Satbis Deori Temple: The Satbis Deori Temple, a Jain shrine, is located inside Mohar Magri in Chittorgarh.
Shyam Temple: The Kumbha Shyam Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Varaha (the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu), was built by Maharana Kumbha and is located within Chittorgarh Fort.
