Jodhpur is a charming city in the desert shining with majestic forts and palaces. Jodhpur is the second largest Indian city in the Indian state of Rajasthan and is the second biggest town of the state. Formerly it was known as Marwar and was a princely state. It is also known as Sun City and Azure City.
Mehrangarh Fort There are seven gates leading to this fort where visitors can see the marks created by the hits of cannon ball during battles on the second gate. There is a chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a warrior who fell down here while protecting the fort against Amber’s armies.

Umaid Bhawan Palace Umaid Bhawan Palace, named after the founder Maharaja Umaid Singh is a beautiful palace and is also known as ‘Chittar Palace’ owing to its location on the Chittar Hill.
Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum- Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, also known as Government Museum, Jodhpur, is located inside the Umaid Bhavan Palace, one of the largest residential palace of the world.
Achal Nath Shivalaya– Achal Nath Shivalaya is a famous Shiv temple constructed in 1531 by Nanak Devi. She was the queen of Rao Ganga. Tourists also enjoy a water reservoir known as ‘Ganga Bawari’ near the Shivling inside the shrine.
Ganesh Temple– Ganesh Temple is located at a distance of 5 km from the city of Jodhpur in Ratananda. Dedicated to Lord Ganesh, main idol of Lord Ganesh has 8 ft height and 5 ft width.
Ghanta Ghar– Ghanta Ghar, also famous as ‘Clock Tower’ is a bsiest place in Jodhpur due to Sadar Market. Sadar market is famous shopping zone of Jodhpur. Ghanta Ghar was constructed by late Shri Sardar Singh. of Jodhpur is a beautiful clock tower.
Jai Pol– Jai Pol meaning, the ‘gate of victory was constructed by Maharaja Man Singh, the King of Marwar in 1806 to celebrate the triumph of Marwar over the arch rival kingdoms of Jaipur and Bikaner.
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park- Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park is located at the foot of Mehrangarh Fort. It was created in 2006 for restoration of natural ecology of rocky wasteland.
Chamunda Mata Temple- Chamunda Mata temple is the temple of Chamunda Devi, Isht devi of royal family. It is located in the southern part of Mehrangarh Fort. Founder of Jodhpur city, Rao Jodha brought the idol of his favourite goddess Chamunda Devi from old capital of Mandore in 1460.
Raj Ranchhodji Temple- Raj Ranchhodji Temple is the red stone temple of Lord Krishna, whose one name out of many names is Ranchhod.
Rasik Bihari Temple- Rasik Bihari Temple , famously known as ‘Naini Ji Temple’ is dedicated to Lord Krishna who praise in the form of Rasik Bihari in this temple.
Baba Ramdeo Temple- Baba Ramdeo Temple, famous by the name of Adhar Shila temple is located above on top of a sandstone ‘Massuria hill’.
Udai Mandir- Udai Mandir is a huge temple which shows the architectural beauty of Rajasthani art and culture. Its has the well carved sandstone upper part of the entrance gate.
Kunj Bihari Temple- Kunj Bihari Temple is artistically and architectural beautiful temple in Jodhpur. Its entrance and top is an example of marvelous architecture.
Sur Sagar Palaces- Sur Sagar Palaces were constructed on large rectangular platforms. These platfroms are made of white Makrana marble. There are two palaces, one each for gents and ladies.
Umed Garden- Umed Garden was developed by King Umaid Singh. This garden spreads over 82 acres of green sprawling land where visitors can see Ashoka trees, lawns, fountains, a library and a zoo.
Jaswant Thada– Jaswant Thada is famously known as ‘Taj Mahal of Mewar’. It has a marvelous marble cenotaph which is constructed by Maharaja Jaswant Singh II .
Mandore Garden- Mandore Garden is located in a small town Mandore in the district of Jodhpur of Rajasthan. Mandore was once the capital of the Marwar kings and is 9 kms away from Jodhpur city.
Kaylana Lake– Kaylana Lake, an artificial water body located on the Jaisalmer Road. This is a popular picnic spot, renowned for its natural beauty and have boating facility. This lake has another part known as Takhat Sagar Lake, named after the King Takhat Singh and is located about 10 kms away from Jodhpur city.
